Recycling of re-chargeable batteries
While most non-rechargeable batteries unavoidably contain hazardous materials. In view of this, Hong Kong's Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has for some time offered the public a rechargeable battery recycling programme that allows users to dispose of such batteries in an environmentally friendly way.
The Millennium City Management Services Office joined forces with the EPD to carry out this programme. The initiative has drawn very favourable comments from tenants.
Utilization of condensation water generated from air-conditioning system for irrigation
Have you ever thought about where the value of condensation water? In the past, the collected condensation water generated from the central air-conditioning system was only discharged into the drainage system. For environmental conservancy and cost caving, the Millennium City Management Services Office has designed and installed an intelligent plumbing system for collecting and filtering condensation water generated from the building. The filtrated condesation water can therefore be used cleaning and flushing purpose.
Maintenance of all indoor air temperature at 25.5 degree Celsius
Enviromental protection is one of the prime management goals of Millennium City. The temperatures of all common hallways and lobbies have been air conditioned at 25.5 degree Celsius. All tenants have been advised to regulate the in-office temperature at about 25.5 degree Celsius.
Multiple Environmental Recycling Projects
Millennium City Management Service Office are always committed to provide tenants with different recycling services. To protect the environment, Millennium City has set up a six-color recycling box. In addition to the basic three types of recycling materials (waste paper, aluminum cans and plastic bottles), we also provide tenants recycling services for toner cartridges, rechargeable batteries and optical discs. In addition, Millennium City Management Service Office have cooperated with different environmental friendly organization to recycle used clothes, glass bottles and fluorescent tubes to reduce waste.
Besides, the Millennium City Service Office cooperates with the government's WEEE Recycling Program and cooperates with government-appointed recyclers to recycle designated electronic products, providing tenants with appropriate ways to dispose of unused electronic products, reducing electronic waste and protecting the environment.
